I have a Remote 25LE but I don't use it with my Matrix 1000. However I have cloned templates from the big brother Remote controller for other synths. Here's sort of what I did....

Install both the Novation X-Station editor and the Remote editor on your PC or Mac. Using the X-Station editor open the sysex file for the Matrix 1000 template. The editor does not care that you do not have an X-Station. I just tried it on my PC. Thank you to Novation for this! You can try opening the sysex file in your Remote editor but I'm betting it will not have all the proper settings.

Create a new template in the Remote editor and clone all the settings from the X-Station editor by right clicking on each control. I know this sounds like a pain but once you get into it you'll see it should be doable.
