Thanks for the responses, the nearest I've got is a Bourns 652-PTA20432015CPB50 which does drop in, but has the 2 middle pins missing & the wrong shaft. I'll try the repair.

A replacement is difficult find. I searched for them, but did not find any in a shop. Basically the Alps RS-Series would work, but the required 15mm sliders with the corresponding shaft appearently are not sold by shops. I assume those slider types are only produced on special order, which is done assumingly mostly by car radio producers (for the graphic EQs).
