first of all: do you use the right fuses for the PSU2 frames

The peak current during power on is a bit different for normal transformers
(as used in the old power supply with 650mA) and for ring core/toroid
transformers. This initial current is higher for the ring core/toroid
transformers. As soon as the power supply is established there is no
difference between the two transformer types. This is why in any case a time
lag/slow blow fuse has to be used. Normally this sluggish behaviour of the
fuse bridges the time until the initial peak current is over and the normal
current is established.

We never had a blown fuse in the company but as we have complaints about
blown fuses now and then we think about increasing the fuse values a bit for
the 115V versions (oddly enough we only had complaints so far with 115V
versions).

Please refer also to one of my last messages concerning blown fuses:

Please look if the right fuse is used (www.doepfer.com > FAQ), e.g. 500 mA
for PSU2 and 115V. In every case a time lag fuse has to be used. As the
specified values are very "conservative" you may even use the next higher
fuse value (e.g. 600 or 700mA) without problems as in case of a fault (e.g.
short circuit) even these fuses will blow. Pay attention to use slow blow
fuses (time lag). Normal/medium or fast fuses will blow in every case as the
ring core transformer has a high initial current during power on.
