There is reasonable risk here (especially for Paul) but every 'pledge' brings our group closer to keeping these great synths going for a good long while! I'll vote with my contribution towards the project to secure a set or 2! The groupbuy.com also looks like a winner too.

Mine is working good for the time being but I look forward to the day when I can re-solder the ribbon connectors back on the board where they belong. I bet most panels don't many more repairs left in them.

Chime in now Polaris owners, destiny calls!

Paul,

Count me in for one set for sure and a second set if the price is reasonable. I have two Polari, one with a working membrane and one without.

I ended up buying 10 of these PCBS because as more people signed on the unit cost kept dropping and as we ordered more the price would drop again... :)

If such a part were to cost under $250 that would be a certain purchase for me, but I understand that low volume runs could mean it costing more than that.

I have Roland synths from the 80s and 90s that use these kind of connectors and none of them have aged appreciably so surely the original issue is specific to the Polaris and its choice of ribbon connector supplier?
