It sounds like you need to do the volume offset Adjustment, documented on
p108 of the owner's manual.

As to the bend lever, pulling it raises the pitch, and there's no software
way to change that. I suppose one could change it by rewiring the pot, and
mechanically recentering it to use the other end of its range. But unless
you're already used to some other synth that has a spring-loaded push-pull
lever where pushing raises the pitch, I recommend just getting used to it.
