For this adjustment, were you able to hear a difference when you
initially moved the slider 'up' (e.g., to hear the sound break through)?
If so - was there a marked change when you moved the slider down - or
did it break through when going up, and then no change at all when
moving down?

If they were loaded via cassette (or as a audio load), and if that load
completely succeeded - then they patches should not be in different
locations.

That said - the patches get loaded in order - and so if something caused
the interface to hiccup, or if the load was restarted in the middle, you
might find that patches are missing or weren't put in the right
directions.

If the patches were loaded via SYSEX - then again, if everything wen't
well - then everything should be in the right place.

In summary - as long as the loads were completed successfully, all
programs should end up in the same place with the new firmware version.
