Subject: Internal Distortion / Clipping

Hi everybody,

New to the forum. I purchased a Polaris recently, and it sounds great, except that I am getting slight distortion / distorted harmonics on most of my patches - distortion I have not heard in demos of working polaris. Especially on bass, it makes the synth very hard to fit in a mix, and smaller sounding than my other synths.

I tried calibrating the VCA's in the adjustments section, but to no avail, and plan on having a technician:

a.) check all voltages
b.) replace all capacitors with higher quality ones

I have heard about replacing the OP Amp output, but have been speaking with a guy who has modded his Polaris to sound absolutely incredible, and he suggested that replacing the OP amp with a more modern one may deliver a little more hi end, but this affects the balance of the sound negatively in his opinion. He uses the original LM part and says it works great.

My question is: is there anything else you can suggest which may modify / upgrade the audio path while I have the unit open?

Thanks!
Teddy
