Subject: Polaris output advice

As there is yet a replacement output board for the Polaris I've been searching around for the best current improvement to the LM348. I found that you wrote this (below) some time ago and so far it seems the most measured and coherent advice I've some across on the net. Unfortunately, while I can handle a soldering iron, my electronic engineering knowledge is still minimal so I was hoping you could expand on your advice below just a bit.

"The TL074/084 in that position is not a great idea. First, the LM348 is a
Bipolar op amp, while the TL074/84 are JFETS. Not necessairly a problem, but in
my Polaris the TL chip sounded harsh. It's not a great chip either anyway. I
finally put in two OPA2211 on a quad adapter (Brown Dog), which sounds great.
The OPA2134 is a FET chip, too, and while better than the TLs not as good as the
more recent chips from TI, AD and National."

First, can you confirm that this is the correct Brown Dog product you mentioned:

Secondly, (if I am looking at the right adapter) would you recommend one of the available pre-mounted options they have listed here?

Many thanks!

Cheers,
James
