My friend has built one replacement output board, and it works nicely, but
hasn't done a production run yet. I'll try to light a fire under him. I have
four Polarises that would make nice homes for his boards.

That probably wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. The real problems are
computer noise on the grounds and power supplies, digital noise coming in
through the error squawk line, and pseudo-random noise coupling from the
digital noise generator line into the output summing busses.

Thanks for that info. 

I'd be happy with a schematic and parts list (hand drawn on a cocktail napkin?). I've never built anything before where I had to source/make my own PCB, but beyond that I'm sure I could cobble it together . . . and I'm sure the good folks of this group could give me some suggestions how to go about creating the board itself.
